Featuring Catch & Release Fly Fishing
We offer seven privately stocked ponds, with several varieties of Trout including Rainbow, German Brown, Snake River Cutthroat and Donaldson Steelhead. Catch & release, or for a nominal fee you may take home one trophy trout (Front Range Anglers staff highly recommend catch and release only). Relax with some of natures most beautiful surroundings, along with the extraordinary experience of having Rocky Mountain Elk all around you!
The Front Range Anglers clinic weekend consists of lodging at the ranch. The ranch has three bedrooms with two bedrooms e/w two sets of bunk beds and the third with a double bed and one bunk bed. For this clinic, you will need a sleeping bag if you plan to stay at the lodge.
If you are planning to bring your spouse, Front Range Anglers suggests that you take advantage of one of the two following options. You will need to make your own arrangements if you choose either of the following options. Both of the following are within 15 – 20 minutes from Hecoma Game Ranch. Your Personal Needs For This Clinic;
- Sleeping bag, we will be using sleeping bags to deflect housekeeping costs.
- Breakfast, lunch and snack products for yourself. We will eat in town for dinner/supper. If you so choose you can eat in town for breakfast and/or lunch.
- Liquid products, both alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic, we also suggest you bring bottled water to carry while fishing.
- Fishing gear, it is suggested a 6 weight or heavier rod. 0X to 3X tippet material.
- Flies, a list of flies will be given you when you sign up and are available at Front Range Anglers.
Clinic Schedule:
- Friday Morning: Meet at Front Range Anglers at appx 7am and then drive to Hecoma Ranch in Cedaredge Co. Arrangements can be made to meet participants somewhere on I-70 also.
- Friday Afternoon: Introduction to the property and Fishing, as everybody will be “cranked up”, until appx 4pm then we will go into Cedaredge for dinner/supper.
- Friday Evening: Front Range Anglers “Host Guides” will present a lake-fishing clinic. The clinic will entail various equipment setups and fly choices for any lake-fishing endeavor.
- Saturday: Fishing until appx 4pm then we will go into Cedaredge for dinner/supper.
- Sunday Morning; Fish until noon, then prepare to leave.
- Sunday Afternoon; Return to Front Range Anglers.
Cost:
The cost for this clinic is $125.00 rod fee per day for a total cost of $250.00 per person. This special price is dependent on the use of “host” guides. Clinic participants will pay the “host” guides expenses, which are travel costs and dinner/supper costs. The rod fees must be prepaid a minimum of 10 working days prior to departure. The rod fees can be prepaid thru the website, Front Range Anglers walk-in or calling Front Range Anglers at 303-494-1375.
Guide Responsibilities:
The “host” guides will provide their own breakfast, lunch and liquid products. The duties of a “host” guide will be to net and handle the fish. This is done to relieve stress to the fish. “Host guides” will also provide the angler with tips and demonstrations. If you require a full time guide the cost will be $250.00 per day. A full time guide’s duties will be the same as a guide at any other place.
