Cortland fly lineCortland Line

When it comes to superior fly lines, Cortland’s 444 LAZERLine® is “state-of-the-art”. 444 LAZERLine® combines innovative features with Cortland’s time tested reliability. Our technicians have developed a harder coating that surpasses all others on the market. You will instantly notice the smoothness and distance with your first cast.

444 LAZERLine’s® stiffer construction and internal lubricants act to reduce friction and provide you with a distance line that is a pure pleasure to cast. Through hours of field testing, Cortland has perfected the tapers of 444 LAZERLine® specific to each line weight. The smaller line weights have longer front tapers for accurate and delicate presentations. The larger line weights have shorter front tapers for more positive turn-over.

To make your fishing more enjoyable, each 444 LAZERLine® is “laser” imprinted with line type and weight for no hassle identification. No more messy stickers! We’ve also included a loop connector for easy change-over of your leaders. WF, DT and ST sizes 2-10 weight available.

For nearly a hundred years Cortland Line Company has broken new ground in sportfishing line development. In 1953 they introduced the 333 Fly Line, the first low-maintenance floating line and the first bonded synthetic surface coating ever used in line manufacturing. Through the second half of the century, Cortland's 444 and 444SL pushed the boundaries of fly line technology even further, while perfecting tapers and creating the most durable, fishable lines available. Until now.

Cortland Line Company announces the new 555 SERIES Fly Lines. The world of the 21st century fly fisher is expanding at lightning speed. The cutting edge angler demands performance and value. The new 555 SERIES has been designed to be one step ahead of today's fly fisher combining groundbreaking new Barrier Construction Technology with application-specific tapers and proprietary coatings that tune in each line for the job at hand.

The 555 SERIES does not rely on a single coating, body material, core or taper. Each line is engineered to address the fly fisher's specific needs. Cortland structures the vital fly line design elements to meet specific demands, making each 555 SERIES Fly Line unique.
