Imagine that you can be less than an hour from downtown
Boulder and cast to trophy sized rainbows and elusive browns, with the
granite spires of the Indian Peaks serving as your backdrop. That for
lunch, you will be treated to service from an award winning restaurant,
and after a day being guided around in a wooden drift boat you can relax
in a lakeside hot tub or get a terrific massage. It can be a reality,
and its all at Gold Lake Resort and Spa.

Located near the old mining town of Ward, Gold Lake is a 35 acre alpine
lake teeming with rainbows in the 18 to 24 inch range. They are known
to cruise the shoreline tailing for scuds, strike hard when going for
streamers, and sip midges and ants off the surface when the sun starts
going down. The monster Browns like to hide deep but are sometimes seen
gliding close to the surface searching for prey. Fly fishing guru Bob
Newman says, For high country lake action for trophy trout, Gold
Lake is among the very best available in Colorado. |
