BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE
FLY TYING
COST: $95 or $145
This introductory/intermediate course provides beginning fly tyers with a 3 week course of instruction on basic techniques used to tie the majority of fly patterns. The course covers tying tools, hook styles and types, difference in thread, fly proportions, dubbing, ribbing, tails, upright hair wings, hackle (dries, nymphs, steamers), and selection of good materials.
The Intermediate section is an additional 3 weeks after the Beginning class. This is a continuation of the techniques you've learned, with attention to more sophisticated fly patterns
Classes are one night a week, 6:30-8:30pm.
Students will receive a 10% discount on all tying tools and materials purchased while attending class. There are two recommended texts: "Successful Fly Tying" by Brad Befus, and "Fly Tying Made Clear and Simple" by Skip Morris. Both are available at the shop.

fly tyers who have mastered the basics progress to more
realistic, creative and demanding fly patterns. This
course is designed for graduates of our Beginner Fly
Tying course or anyone who is looking to expand or improve
upon their current fly tying knowledge.
Requirements: Mastery of basic fly tying techniques.
Class duration: 2 nights. Students will receive
a 10% discount on all tying tools and materials purchased
