PMD CDC Dun
By: Shayne Harrop. But I have made my changes to it.
Hook: TMC 101 BL or 200SP BL
Size: 16 ~ 22
Thread: Yellow 8/0 UNI-Thread
Tail: 3 ~ 4 light Dun CDC Fibers Over 4 ~ 6 Light Dun Hackle Fibers w/CDC Clipped To 1/2 Length Of Hackle Fibers. (See Picture)
Abdomen: Turkey Biot (Sizes 16 ~ 18) Yellow Thread W/Brown Pen Marked Rib (Sizes 20 ~ 22).
Wing: Bunch of CDC fibers, dyed cream/yellow.
Thorax: Cream/Yellow
Legs: Of CDC Wing Tied Back Along Body
Head: PMD Dubbing

Step Tying Instruction
1 Lay thread base to tail area.
2 Prepare tail of hackle fibers (length of hook) & 1/2 that length of CDC fibers, tie in at bend.
3 Tie in Turkey biot wrap 2/3 making abdomen OR use thread to form it. Unwind thread so that it will lay flat while building abdomen, when body looks almost correct size, retreat thread to tail. Spin thread opposite direction from unwind direction. Tightening thread "very taught". Take permanent marker and darken 1/2 in. of thread. This tight thread coil will be wrapped, spiral wrapping it to form a rib 2/3 the way forward towards eye.
4 Dub bulky thorax, pick out dubbing.
5 Tie in bunch CDC fibers at the base of the thorax. Allow the tips to extend to 1/2 of hook bend. Keep fibers along top and extend to sides.
6 Fold a few fibers of CDC back along each side to form legs, trim 2/3 length of abdomen.
7 Dub head with more PMD thorax dubbing.
8 Whip finish. Add head cement to complete fly.

Fishing Instructions:
Fish this fly as a "strike indicator fly" with a trailing emerger or by itself. It will float perfectly on the surface and you can see it from great distances. You can even drown it and fish it in the film as a cripple or emerger.

Note:
In British Columbia, they do not allow for a second fly when fly fishing, only a one-fly rig is allowed.
