The Double Fly - PMD
By: Unknown
Source: I got Picture from Shayne Harrop But this is my own version of it that I've been tying for over 10 years.
Hook: TMC 200BL
Size: 16 ~ 22
Thread: Yellow 8/0 UNI-Thread
Tail: 3 ~ 4 Wood Duck Hackle Fibers W/Tuft Of Rusty-Olive Dubbing
Rib: Fine Copper wire.
Abdomen/Shuck: Rusty-Olive body length.
Thorax: Wing: Light Dun CDC Fibers
Hackle: Legs: Butts Of The CDC Wing Fibers Tied Back Along Body
Head: Fine PMD Dubbing

Step Tying Instruction
1 Lay thread base.
2 Tie in wood duck & tuft of dubbing at bend.
3 Tie in rib wire.
4 Dub Rust/Olive dubbing 1/2 way up shank.
5 Spiral rib wire to end of dubbing.
6 Switch to PMD dubbing for another 1/4 up shank making it slightly thicker.
7 Using the Paired CDC feathers, tie them in extending the tips to tail tie in point, tie in fibers but don't trim.
8 Pull a few fiber butts back along each side of thorax to form legs, trim them just shorter than wings and trim off excess wing butts, too.
9 Add more PMD dubbing in front of wing (see picture) and whip finish and add head cement.

Fishing Instructions:
Grease fly at PMD thorax "only" so . . . abdomen/tail/shuck will sink below surface like the naturals. Fish dead drift when duns are present. This fly can be deadly!

Note:
In British Columbia, they do not allow for a second fly when fly fishing, only a one-fly rig is allowed.
